木曜、金曜と続く、太郎さんとシェンの２dayコンサートのうちの一つです。

５月３０、３１日 新潟、札幌 ワークショップ＆コンサート
日本行きまで、ちょうど一ヶ月！
３週間と短いですが、楽しみです。
子供に手のかかる時期、（コンサートタイムはベッドタイム、まだおっぱい命だし、、、）
あまりお仕事は入れないつもりでしたが、、、
新潟と札幌に行きます。（子連れで。離ればなれは、母子ともにまだ無理なので；）
主催者の方からのリクエストにより、子守唄もやります♪
正確に言うと、ヨガのシャヴァーサナ中によさそうな歌を、ということで。
これでサラスワティも当日寝てくれたらいいな。。。

Cultural Festival of India
1008種類の料理がでるという、とんでもないインドの食のお祭りが毎年一回あります。
今年こそは行きたい！と思っていたのだけど、先週日曜日サロードのコンサートと重なってしまい、終了後駆けつけたけど、終わってた…。

モハンヴィーナーは、インドのスライドギターで、演奏者が少なく、聴くのは３年前のインド以来です。
ジャズギタリストで、モハンヴィーナーに転向した彼の演奏、楽しみです。

今日から女神に捧げる9日間のお祭り、ナヴァラートリが始まります。
ブリスベン郊外のガネーシャ寺院で毎晩開かれるコンサートに、7日と8日出演します。
7日は夜6時半、8日は夜8時スタートです。

早いもので、日本行きがもうあさってになりました。楽しみ！
普段海外にいくときも荷造りは前日の夜とかからでしたが、今回はベビーグッズがいろいろあるので、そろそろ始めようかなと思ってます。
初めての赤ちゃんを連れての飛行機も、非常にエキサイティングです。。。
8月29日から9月20日までいる予定です。名古屋のあとは14～16日関西へ。
その間ライブやワークショップをします。
どこかでお会いできれば嬉しいです♪

ドゥルパドは、娯楽のための芸術ではない。崇拝である。
音に関わる中で自身を進化させること。音の領域、目に見えない世界への旅。
自己を知ることを目的としている。。。音楽はそうあるべきである。
聖なる音。
今のこの闇の時代、カリ・ユガに唱えると良い、ヴィシュヌ・マントラ、Hari Om Narayana Tarana Taarana Ananta Hari Om。
ドゥルパドのアーラープは、このマントラを分解した音節から成り立っている。
HariがRiになり、NarayanaがNaに、OmがNumというように。。。
１０００万回のプージャ（神に捧げる儀式）は、１回の瞑想に値する。
１０００万回の瞑想は、１回のジャパ（マントラを唱え続けること）に値する。
１０００万回のジャパは、１回歌うことに値する。
歌を超えるものはない。
聖者ナーラダがヴィーナーを弾き、歌いながら、宇宙を旅するのを見て、ヴォシュヌ神は言った。
「彼が一番敬虔な信者だ。なぜなら私のためにいつも歌っているからだ」と。
歌うことで、自分のすべてを表現する。魂をいたわり、浄化する。
歌うことは浄化のプロセス、自己実現のプロセス、全てである。
この道において、知るべきこと、すべきことは無限にある。
それを知ると、エゴは自然と消えて行く。
マインドではなく、ハートで体験する。

Inaugural Event In BEMAC’s New ‘Crossings’ Series
Presenting
on Saturday February 23rd (rescheduled after Cyclone Oswald), United
Nations of Indian Classical Music brings together 7 accomplished
Indian classical artists from around the world in a celebration of
Indian classical culture. This world class concert will be the
first in BEMAC’s new Crossings series. Join us this year at
the Queensland Multicultural Arts Centre as we criss-cross the globe
on a musical odyssey featuring artists from India to Sudan, Iran
to Japan, Vanuatu to the Northern Territory and who knows where else!
Experience
the calm of ancient Dhrupad vocals by Yuki Taniguchi Flindell
(Japan), the beauty of Bharat Natyam dance by Mathuja Bavan (Sri
Lanka) and the exhilaration of high energy khayals and geets by Tahir
Qawwal (Canada). The programme will culminate in a dynamic jugalbandi
(duet) between Saikat Bhattacharya (India) on sitar and Vinod
Prasanna (India/Melbourne) on bansuri (bamboo flute). Accompaniment
will be provided by special guest tabla maestro from Sydney, Maharshi
Raval (India) and Brisbane’s own Shen Flindell (Australia). Event
sponsors Sitar Restaurant will be providing delicious veggie samosas
and chai during the interval.

Prasanna - Bansuri (India/Melbourne)
Born
into one of India’s greatest flute-playing families, award-winning
bansuri (flute) virtuoso Vinod Prasanna shines as an outstanding
performer of authentic traditional and contemporary Indian music.
Vinod’s emotive melodies, exquisite improvisations and divine flute
song distinguish his performance of Indian classical, world and
meditation music. Simply, Indian music at its finest. Currently
residing in Australia, Vinod is a performing and recording artist,
teacher, craftsman and ambassador of the Bansuri. Vinod has more than
17 years of performing and teaching experience and continues a family
legacy that celebrates more than two-and-a-half centuries of Indian
music.
Saikat Bhattacharya - Sitar (India)
Having
regularly performed in the Queensland Multicultural Music Festival,
the Woodford Folk Festival and several other public and private
programs around Brisbane, Saikat Bhattacharya has been playing the
Sitar for over twenty years citing it as his passion and devotion.
Tahir Qawwal - Vocal (Canada)
A passionate and highly skilled performer, Tahir Qawwal has trained with the highest masters of Indian Classical music and Sufi Qawwali music; performing and teaching vocal styles such as Geet, Ghazal, Bhajan, Thumri, classical and folk himself around the world for 12 years.
Mathuja Bavan - Bharat Natyam (Sri Lanka)
From
an early age Mathuja was interested in music and various art forms –
she is a keen student of piano and carnatic violin - but Bharatha
Natyam occupies a very special place in her heart and has seen her
perform solo, and in groups across New Zealand, Townsville, Gold
Coast and Brisbane.
Yuki Taniguchi Flindell - Dhrupad vocal (Japan)
Through
Mantra, Kirtan and Indian Classical Music, Yuki became interested in
the power of sound. After several years studying yoga, kirtan and
mantra in USA and Japan, Yuki now spends half the year in India
studying Dhrupad vocal under Pt. Ritwik Sanyal, Sanskrit, and Mantra
Yoga, giving concerts and teaching in Japan and Australia.
Maharshi Raval - Tabla (India/Sydney)
Having
performed on television programs including X-Factor and Good News
Week, Maharshi has been a student of Tabla - winning first
prize for National Youth Festival Tabla Competition in 1994 – for
over 25 years. He has travelled extensively to various parts of the
world as an accompanist to Indian Classical Vocalists,
Instrumentalists and Kathak Dancers and runs a music institute: Shree
Gajanan Cultural Mission - The Institute of Indian Classical Music
and Dance.
Shen Flindell - Tabla (Australia)
Now
an established performer in the Indian classical music circles of
Australia and Japan, Shen Flindell has also had successful concerts
in India. Not only is he capable in the 4 fields of vocal
accompaniment, instrumental accompaniment, Kathak dance accompaniment
and tabla solo, but has also given successful accompaniment in
Carnatic vocal, Odissi and Bharat Natyam dance performances.

One of the leading musicians in the Indian classical music scene in Japan Taro

Chaurasia, and later Mr. Amit Roy (who is generally seen as the father
of Indian classical music in Japan), Taro music both engages the mind and touches the heart.
Mathuja Bavan - Bharat Natyam (Sri Lanka)
From
an early age Mathuja was interested in music and various art forms – she
is a keen student of piano and carnatic violin - but Bharatha Natyam
occupies a very special place in her heart and has seen her perform
solo, and in groups across New Zealand, Townsville, Gold Coast and
Brisbane.
Yuki Taniguchi Flindell - Dhrupad vocal (Japan)
Through
Mantra, Kirtan and Indian Classical Music, Yuki became interested in
the power of sound. After several years studying yoga, kirtan and mantra
in USA and Japan, Yuki now spends half the year in India studying
Dhrupad vocal under Pt. Ritwik Sanyal, Sanskrit, and Mantra Yoga, giving concerts and teaching
in
Japan and Australia.
Having
performed on television programs including X-Factor and Good News Week,
Maharshi has been a student of Tabla - winning first prize for
National Youth Festival Tabla Competition in 1994 – for over 25 years.
He has travelled extensively to various parts of the world as an
accompanist to Indian Classical Vocalists, Instrumentalists and Kathak
Dancers and runs a music institute: Shree Gajanan Cultural Mission - The
Institute of Indian Classical Music and Dance.
Shen Flindell - Tabla (Australia)
Now an
established performer in the Indian classical music circles of
Australia and Japan, Shen Flindell has also had successful concerts in
India. Not only is he capable in the 4 fields of vocal accompaniment,
instrumental accompaniment, Kathak dance accompaniment and tabla solo,
but has also given successful accompaniment in Carnatic vocal, Odissi
and Bharat Natyam dance performances.

11/11 ドゥルパド公演まであと少し
いよいよ来週となりました！
大切なイベントに向けて、心地よい緊張感を感じています。
気合いを入れつつも、おなかの子のためにもやさしい気持ちで歌えたらと思っています。
今回はハルモニウムも持参して、カネコテツヤさんのパカーワジソロも披露していていただきます。
日本唯一の奏者の両面太鼓の深く響く音色、ぜひ体感してください。
終了後は、簡単なパーティもありますので、残れる方どなたも大歓迎です。

女神に捧げるコンサート
1０月２１日日曜日、ブリズベン市内でサラスワティー・プージャ・ホームコンサートがありました。
ナヴァラートリの期間、音楽、芸術、知恵の女神であるサラスワティーをたたえる３日間の初日に開かれました。
タミル人コミュニティーの集まりで、私、シェン、シェンの友人一人を除いて、観客も演奏者も全員が南インド人やスリランカ人。
きれいな神棚が整えられ、たくさんのお供え物が置かれました。
食べ物や花などのほかに、知恵の女神であるサラスワティーの神棚には、本をお供えする習慣があります。彼女に本をあずけると、あっという間に全部読んでくれてその知恵を恵んでくれると信じられています。私たちもそのしきたりにならい、本をお供え。
演奏者も観客も神様に向かって座ります。お客さんが前でなく、横という配置。
シェンのタブラスクールをフィーチャーし、シタール、サラスワティー・ヴィーナー、ヴォーカルなどのゲストアーティストが迎えられました。
最後に、私とシェンで、ドゥルパドとバジャンを演奏。
ドゥルパド、ラーガヤマン、サラスワティーやドゥルガーの曲と、女神達に捧げるバジャン。
ドゥルパドのアーラープでは、 子供はすぐに寝ました：）子供を寝かせるのは、産む前から得意のよう。
ドゥルパドは、大半が穏やかですが、エキサイティングなおもしろい表現も含みます。
声をびよ〜んとのばしたり、上下に揺らせたりする部分では、シェン曰く、女の子が二人ちょっとびっくりした様子で、目を見合わせて微笑んでいたそう。私もはじめて聞いたときは、なんだこれは！？と驚くと同時に、感銘を受けました。
実は、前日も当日の朝も声が枯れてたのに、 コンサート中は全く問題なくでました。まるで女神様が守ってくれたかのように。
神様に向かって歌うと心がさらに落ち着き、内側のスペースが広がっていくような感じがしました。
最後はたくさんの人が交代にバジャンをリード。
終わった後は、インド人系の集まりでは欠かせない、みんなでの食事。おいしい料理をおなかいっぱいいただきました。
帰り際にいただいた、シェンへのグルダクシナ、グルへの捧げものの中には、サリーも。お祝い事でのサリーのギフトは一般的なため、シェンよりも、私のほうが断然多くのギフトをいただいてます：）この日着たサリーもシェンの他の生徒のお母さんから。たくさんのディディ（インド人のおねえさんたち）に囲まれ、私は幸せ者です。
神様やあたたかい観客のみなさんに支えられ、とてもよい雰囲気でした。おうちを開いてくれた、シヴァさん、ヴァスキさん夫婦に感謝。
